Mega Man Zero and Mega Man ZX share a setpiece occuring midway through the game, with slight differences. In both games, the player character's central home base area gets attacked by the enemy and a stage is set within the invaded hub area.

Area H in Mega Man ZX, the Amusement Park, features many cameos and easter eggs referencing older Mega Man titles, including the Mega Man Zero series. Look closely and you can see Pantheon toys scattered about, as well as a plush toy of Passy from the original Mega Man Zero.

More of a loose post today, but I've always loved the flair Inti have for making their boss fights feel so much more dramatic with their use of backgrounds.

They remind you of what you're fighting for and help set the tone of each fight so well.

Artwork for the Inti Creates characters featured in Rockman X DiVE, the ongoing Mega Man X-centered mobile game: Zero, Aile, Ciel and Copy X.

Many of Inti Creates' playable characters feature some variation of a cape, flowing hair, or combination of these elements. Whether this is to make animations feel faster and fluid, or just an extensive company-wide tribute to the Mega Man Zero series, is unknown.

In Azure Striker Gunvolt, one of GV's bolts is not named after a mythological creature like the rest: Technos. As the bolt shoots two shots in different directions, and Gunvolt is often compared to a Dragon, this is most likely an homage to the creators of Double Dragon: Technos.

Asimov from the Azure Striker Gunvolt series takes his name from Isaac Asimov, sci-fi author most well known for declaring the 3 laws of robotics. This is most likely because he serves as a father figure to Gunvolt, who in a meta-sense was a successor to the Mega Man robots.

Wire Sponge's stage in Mega Man X2 is unique in featuring a weather manipulation system. Different weather can both alter enemy patterns and X's physics.

This mechanic would later be reimplemented in Mega Man Zero 4, with each stage having 2 weather variants.
