so first off, karkat quelling gamzee's rampage not with violence but with compassion is EXTREMELY GOOD

despite karkat's anger and bitterness, he cares SO MUCH about his friends. he's the KNIGHT of BLOOD, PROTECTING his FRIENDS is his WHOLE THING

this is then followed up by a declaration of official moirallegiance between karkat and gamzee, and a bit of flowery narration from hussie which is clearly jokey but honestly also it's kinda sweet

and it fucking???? works

it actually works and gamzee is pacified like this is a fuckin undertale fight

karkat then proceeds to apply his gentle shutdown technique to gamzee himself, shushing him and patting his little head like he is a big clown baby

he also shuts down terezi when she's thinking about kismesis and honestly GOOD

kanaya's first instinct is to try and auspitize karkat and gamzee which is so fucking funny to me, and i love karkat just gently shutting her down

their ancestors are all highlighted here too in a similarly beautiful style but uhhhhh this raises some questions i'll get to in a minute
