Anyway, I can show the sketch of the first illustration. It has some character redesigns I haven't concluded yet, but the placement is almost the way I want.
Actually, MMX7 and X8 Stage Select world maps are basically the same image, but with different coloring. You can see that the clouds are identical, but in X8 they are no longer transparent so they look much thicker.
It all began when I fused the world map texture of Mega Man X7 and X8. They complement each other in terms of colors, then I mixed some Google Earth screenshots and later made that digital version with the help of a map with the land divisions and painting shenanigans.
Finally, these are the artworks for Saturn's original design. Since his conception around 2006, the fire cannon in his face has been an easy target for jokes and it contributes to his comical personality. The flamethrower is pulled only during combat in the new design.
