Araki made a lot of references to DBZ around this time so it'd make sense
Started digging into the 4:3 versions of the DBZ movies and the only version I could find was the low quality US DVD release with blown out colors. Tried my hand at color correcting them to match the Dragon Box release and I think they turned out pretty solid?
One big thing I especially noticed was how close up shots are done. They use really nice depth of field effect with blurring/softness around the edges. I think TCW S7 used it as well? but I'm really noticing it here
Star Wars The Clone Wars was always one of those shows that really pushed the boundaries of how good CG TV shows could look and I'm glad the new Bad Batch series is doing the same. It's really impressive looking
It takes some Tron-level hyper sleuthing to figure out these obscure details
