A white-clawed crayfish
We are lucky enough to have in good numbers in our becks, but they are struggling in many places.
To give it a good chance we are looking to have many of our becks fenced off from livestock soon.
He’s a funky dude & needs helping.
#EndangeredSpeciesDay
Drilling (planting) barely & pea for wholecrop silage into The Teapot Field & The Crow.
A fast bulky crop, we’ll harvest it green late July for winter forage.
We’re hoping The Crow doesn’t live up to its name and they leave a few to grow 🌾
Sheep blarting hopefully for cake after the neighbour on his rounds through the fields.
Sparrows bickering over space in the roof of the barn,
A curlews bubbling call.
Monday morning 6.19, rush hour.
Got some @SwarfegaUK hand cleaner to try, and bloomin heck it’s fair tackle.
My hands are a whole world cleaner & better smelling, I’m even allowed to touch food with them now!
Good work 👍🏼
Our becks are home to the native white clawed crayfish, which also happens to form a large part of the otters diet.
Good for the otter, unfortunate for Mr Crayfish 😬
#WorldWildlifeDay
A parlour engine low-hum bass line
Clattering doors for a drum beat
Sparrows, woken by the shed lights, playing the melody with a constant chatter
And bulling heifer 1964 on vocals, balling at anything that moves.
The soundtrack to my Monday morning 🎶 😊
Heading back from the night check on cows
Snow beginning to blow about
Tawny owl calling
Orion high in the sky over our home
Wintery ❄️
Sunday afternoon chills with Ronnie*
*possibly the most handsomest dog ever (in my completely unbiased opinion 😊)
Love this life, beautiful evening.
*but how come there’s always a cow having a jimmy riddle🙈
