The Aztecs had eagle and jaguar warriors, time for an axolotl warrior. Some idle sketching for the new character design challenge - and since the prevalent cutesy aesthetic is not my jam, gotta go with a dude in a funny hat.

Humble tribute to the Wings of Honneamise. How I haven't come across it earlier is beyond me. This movie left me speechless.

More Civ 5! Quick icon for good old Washington - his vanilla B-17 was stolen by JFD's FDR, and so the og prez is getting a raiding boat as consolation prize. Reducing anachronism is a nice bonus too I guess.

What? New art for a Civ 5 mod? Guess when you can't see a future, you turn back to what made you happy before.

Humble Frankish monk toiling away for now. There might be more to come, turns out it's a cool warmup before more concrete work.

Thanks for the initiative! I'm Jan and I do various historical, fantasy and sci-fi stuff. Mostly illustration, dipping my toes in concept art. I do traditional artwork as well, it's tucked away on my artstation. I may be open for commissions come the new year!

Setting up the mood for the Commune of France vs. Germany pic. Could use more air perhaps, but I think I prefer a sense of a cramped space to increase the sense of chaos. God I'm so slow at it compared to the previous pics though.

Quick and dirty edit to make that landship variant I had in mind first. I forgot how to include an impractical number of weapons in everything I draw. Three turrets with 20mm autocannons and ball-mounted MGs in the hull. Where's the space for the crew? Movie magic.

Bit simpler today, needed a German tank design that would reflect a more defensive doctrine. I'm either being boring today, or you will inevitably end up with a variation on the Panzer III/IV. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Some designs for the next Kaiserreich pic. Military doctrine informs equipment - so I needed an alternate, less defensive tank that would still use the expected visual language of French armor. Think Panzer III in terms of purpose.

Eowyn vs. the Witch King, sort of. Inspired by Frazetta's awesome drawings on the subject. Just a loose pic done to combat some doubts and frustrations of recent days.

I should be referencing more, but it went by too fast.
