The Owyhee mountain range straddles the Idaho and Oregon Border and contrary to the eastern side of the treasure valley, these mountains see far less rain. The vast canyons and rock formations hold important dig sites that have yielded specimens like Thundercats. (8hr study)
Somewhere about twenty miles into the Frank Church Wilderness, this is the start of the River of No Return. This area holds so many memories of my childhood. I hiked this trail in 2008 I think.
After spending 6 months doing almost exclusively digital + fairly naturalistic art, it feels great to take a couple of days to let loose and experiment with some gouache.
