On the 4th sunday, the Oroburn is all grown up! I decided against making it super long in the drawing for readability and instead took inspiration from the old super-deformed #pokemon #gameboy sprites, which used deformation & perspective to fit on screen and to imposing effect.

Slippoles need body heat to grow and evolve. They have indentations in the back of their heads that allow children to wear them like cool-looking slippers. Because this also warms the animal, this symbiotic relationship persisted through the ages.

Cookie Gremlins steal and protect cookies with their lives, likely because scent and shape remind them of their brethren. Because of this, they are VERY beloved among dieting people.

The Slurpasloth moves by rolling, as its limbs are so small. When it's tired and hungry, it sticks out its massive tongue to slurp up anything that lands on it. As it is soft as a cushion, many animals mistake it for a cozy bed.

The Swishereptile moves in a swaying manner to cover its trace with its brush-like appendages. As a result, barely anyone ever finds its nest.

Let's get weird for the second half of the #monsterdesign #illustration #adventcalendar2022 ! This creature IS a bird, but actually has a lot in common with crabs. Because its head and body are all conscious, young ones often fight among themselves.

The Oroburn grew up! This being the advent ring #monsterdesign #illustration, of course this one has 3 lights. Doing the same creature in different stages of its growth is pretty fun 😁

Putting this together was actually kind of hard. The only thing that stayed the same through all iterations was the jaw.

When this penguin's majestic mane suddenly sprouted, its confidence rose so much, it finally managed to fly.

The Shawlfish is a sea creature with surprisingly high body heat and it can survive on land. Because of this, they're often used to keep drinks warm. In some circles, bigger ones are popular gifts to round out outfits, despite the resulting neck pain.
