He was considered to be the greatest man of Europe in the early middle ages, and played a pivotal role in the revival of Roman knowledge and culture within the frame of Christianity in the Dark Ages.

Playable leader I painted for the Dark Ages boardgame.
Berhold II, Count of Andechs. Powerplayer, He even challenged the authority of Germany's Archbishop.

3 year process. 2017 I was still struggling with the more basic fundamentals, and afterwards I learned I had alot more to do in terms of contrast and readability. Last revision on the painting was early this year.
