The cover art to The Heart of the Wild for The One Ring Roleplaying Game. This one developed out of an idea I had for a Hobbit and a Dwarf confronting a “parliament” of spiders, arrayed around the edge of a clearing. It developed to fit the supplement, but that was the start.
A personal favourite from The One Ring RPG corerules. Some folks find Middle-Earth an empty setting, but for me that bleak landscape littered with the remnants of a fallen Age really appeals to me. The landscape is a character, and if you work with it makes for amazing games.
Archive alive! The cover to The Elven Crystals for Dragon Warriors by James Wallis’ Magnum Opus Press. Goodness me what a privilege it was to work on Dragon Warriors, a game I played religiously as a teen and thoroughly enjoyed. #rpg #dragonwarriors #osr
Here’s one I had a lot of fun with. The cover to Ruins of the North for The One Ring Roleplaying Game.

As regular readers will know I’ve been delving through my back catalogue. Here’s another painting I’m very fond of: the cover to Friends or Foes for Dragon Warriors. This one came out in 2010.
From the archives! I originally painted this one as a personal piece during the initial art phase of The One Ring. I couldn’t share any of that work, and was dying to share some Tolkien art. So I painted this. Eventually it saw publication in the Hobbit Tales card game.
