The Eggman Empire arc by Ian Flynn in Archie Sonic gets a lot of love for being the storyline where Sonic gets a big beatdown, although he immediately recovers in the next issue, it's the best you can get under Sega's mandates.
Though there ARE flaws with this storyline.

@FrostTheHobidon Sally Acorn actually made her debut in Sonic Miniseries Issue 0 on November 24, 1992. The same day Sonic 2 released in North America.
Sally's gonna have been around for 30 years come this November. Tails' is in October with the EU/SA releases of Sonic 2 on Master System.

One of the factors I feel causes Sonic fandom stigma against the Archie Sonic comics (especially Penders and Bollers) is the fact that many of its breed of science fiction and fantasy tropes are specifically rooted in the Dark Age of Comic Books, particularly comics of the 1990s.

I always thought this level's music would fit these characters.
Specifically "The Base" track for the second part of White Acropolis.

@milesfan6 NGL he does looks pretty silly in that one panel. I actually would've preferred if he had the dab-like run Sally had a few pages later. :P

I always really liked this moment between Sonic and Sally that Ken Penders wrote in issue 145. Even though they recently broke up (under Karl Bollers, not Penders BTW) and Sally was really angry with Sonic, this reminded us they'll be back together eventually.💖💖💖
