If Sonic SatAM got another physical rerelease, like on Blu-Ray this time, this guy would be a good choice for the cover artist. Art Mawhinney? The SatAM storyboard guy, and a recurring Archie Sonic artist from 1994-2005? Also drew those Sonic Golden Books?

It's also why I advocate for many Sonic games that get denied rereleases on modern platforms to be rereleased on modern platforms. To make them more VALID AND RELEVANT again for a new generation.

So... I still have #ReprintArchieSonic in my bio... honestly I still want it to happen despite the roadblocks that would have to be overcome for it to happen (Sega being on board, royalties being paid, etc.)
Because to me, official rereleases gives a product a sense of "validity"

Also, Knuckles was originally planned to be green during Sonic 3's development. Many suspect that Penders just turned him green in the Chaos Knuckles arc because he's become a living Chaos Emerald and all Chaos Emeralds in Archie in that era were green.

I like how the first 8 issues of the Archie Sonic reboot each had their own little tagline, which by the way, the old one "The World's Most Way Past Cool Comic!" last appeared in issue 235's cover and was gone after that.
Once Waves of Change hit, this little reboot trend left.

1996-1997 is the prelude to Sonic's Adventure Era.
Yuji Uekawa made his debut as artist for Sonic 3D Blast and Sonic Jam, and character designer for Sonic R, having created Metal Knuckles (no he didn't make Tails Doll unfortunately, I bet he wishes he had that claim to fame tho)

Akhlut was better in Pre-SGW form (left) though, I must say.

I prefer the Pre-SGW universe of Archie Sonic over the Post-SGW one, but I like how Post-SGW handles aquatic Mobians more.

I like the idea of a dad/husband who does dodgy things to prevent what he perceives as a potential future catastrophe. That's basically what Knuckles' father Locke the Echidna in Archie Sonic was.
