Hope's character development under Ian Flynn was amazing.

To call Hope Kintobor the "Not Maria" would technically be wrong, though I've never seen anyone call her that thankfully.
Because Hope actually predated Maria by like... 5 months
That, and Hope gets more opportunity to develop and be cool since she's... well, NOT shot dead by GUN
