Y'know... I notice that some of the plot choices in Archie Sonic that people REALLY complain about a lot come not from any writer, but rather from the EDITORS...
Justin Gabrie mandated this love triangle in Karl Bollers' run, and Mike Pellerito mandated King Shadow in Flynn's run

Shoutout to Archie Sonic writers/artists Frank Strom and Tania del Rio. They didn't write that many stories for that comic but the ones they DID introduced some very important characters and concepts.
Actually, I just realized BOTH of them laid the groundwork for Iron Dominion!

The main thing I miss about Sonic is the "radicalness" he used to have. He used to give off this "I'm not like those other characters/franchises your kids like, I'M COOLER!" attitude
This was especially there in the 90s + 2000s games as well as both the Archie and Fleetway comics

The thing that makes it hard for me to critique IDW Sonic's artwork and have people take it seriously is that by all means it's objectively good artwork, and I just subjectively don't like how it tries to make the characters look too cute for my liking.

Y'know, I remember someone comparing the Nanites in Archie Sonic to the Metal Virus in IDW Sonic, and there are some similarities. But these two concepts are far from identical.
Both are nanomachines that can turn organic matter (like the forest in issue 152) into metallic matter

Going back to Karl Bollers' Sally though, one thing I almost forgot to cover here is the love triangle thing with Mina. Sally actually handled it quite well, although she did get rather sad when she THOUGHT Sonic and Mina were legit dating, though they never were.

Y'know... I've kind of noticed that not only are game fans and IDW fans critical of Archie's Sonic comics, but also SatAM fans as well.
I feel a lot of contention revolves around Sally's portrayal in particular, and how Archie handled her relationship with Sonic.

I'm kinda thinking right now about how many pieces of Sonic media don't have any official availability anymore.
It's mostly COMICS, and games from the 2000s (many of which don't get modern platform ports and some haven't been ported/rereleased at all since they were new)
