Not that it had to be all subtle. I feel like most of my friend group as a preteen/teen had Vanyel from Magic's Pawn as an out protagonist in epic fantasy in the 90s.

Though, if I'm being honest, most of my conversations on Telegram are just me and my spouse spamming scream_gryphon emojis back and forth.

@Derionax447 @OfTheWilds Book 4 has some of my favorite scenes involving Biski and Merin =] But if you need a happier book, Crestfall is definitely the main trio at their happiest getting into trouble together. Plus adorable, troublesome sand gryphons.
