@MrQuaDriller @Protodude I'm guessing because of the Bonne family. It's an old trope started by the Time Bokan series (of which Yatterman is a part of). So many examples!
If you like Mega Man Legends, consider adding Future Boy Conan to your watchlist. The influence is apparent.
@aeroburge It kinda depends. I'm not a big fan of his Mai/Athena (top). I like Shinkiro's interpretations of those characters.
Some more amazing pieces from Eisuke Ogura. His influence on the current KOF art direction is very apparent, I think.
One of Eisuke Ogura's best works is "Memories of Stray Wolves", a 20 minute video splicing together game clips with a new motion comic illustrated by Ogura. Takes place during Mark of the Wolves & features characters from earlier games like Richard Meyer, Duck King, and Blue Mary
They have wiki pages on these people nowadays, so it is not hard to find this information. See more here: https://t.co/0qyNF6L1nU
Shinkiro is great for defining these character, but let's give credit as well to Eisuke Ogura. He's been with SNK since 1996 & has worked his way from doing small demo graphics to promo artwork to main illustrator and now creative director of KOFXV. This is definitely his style. https://t.co/AZN6kj5icu
It is time once again to fall into the "Audrey Hepburn in Japan" rabbit hole. https://t.co/5FqJTlU1iJ
