found out about the bizarre part of the localization : changing the fucking artwork
idk while the redraw was more stiff and wonky, I kinda liked how it's less ""classic bishie""
but again, it looks pretty stiff, like what westerners thinks anime looked like in the 2000s https://t.co/CPEDyC7OOS
I'd say the ballet game was even more of a step up than the skating game despite the similar gameplay (and some dating sim)
it got 3 character stories (4 in the JP ver.), better graphics and overall "complete" feeling. There's also tons of rl ballet lore and stretching tips
there's the ice skating game too, the prequel I noted back then have cursed dialogues
The sequel was more fixed and the characters are less savage, but it got its moments too☠️ (one guy you can date had a rival who's his lil sister, typical with ins4ne brocon behavior lmao)
there's also other game like this one but for some reason the controls/emulation broke
realism is cool and all, but sometimes things irl can look pretty chunky and minimalist at the same time.
Feels like most of the time a reboot just loses its "Camp large, stylized size" design in exchange for "grounded" realistic looking ones rip
"those clothes looks impractical! that mecha looks chunky and lacks detail! armor looks too big"
and then they nerf it to classic tank top and oversized jacket "real life" clothes even in fantastic settings, body armor just gets downsized with random swirls instead of shapes☠️
