An aged firefly, at the end of it's life, watches the sky in wistful envy.

"Had I the chance to fly as high, perhaps I could glow as bright."

But such dreams are fleeting wishes, borne on fragile wings, for mortal creatures tethered to the sleeping earth.

The hilt material is solely because I saw this kris with a hilt supposedly made of a fossilized mammoth's molar tooth and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it.
