Hayao Miyazaki also directly references the Emishi people in the film, Princess Mononoke. They are even lesser known than the Ainu and were known for their horsemanship, archery, and cultivation of millet and rice. One of the main characters, Ashitaka, is a banished "prince".

@GuardianArisha Last thing: I read some of the wiki and the character names/back story for the Patch Tribe has: a spirit named Big Chief (yikes), whose design is once again mishmashing different tribes and the tribe must convert to the religion of Shaman King (stinks of colonialism, yikes).
