made a VRChat avatar which is nothing but a big pair of cartoon pants. it's self-retargeting - the outer leg bones copy the rotation from the inner leg bones
it is a bit janksome but eh
i'm Kewey and my creativity seems to entirely revolve around animal folk or human folk merrily transforming into animal folk. i've made stories, Instagram filters, VR avatars, 3D animation, been a voice artist, visual artist, musician, fursuiter... i just try all the things :) https://t.co/TM9DW9CUte
for a morphing avatar it seems to help to have two bones for every Mecanim bone - the actual retargeting bone for Mecanim, and a deformation bone parented to that which you can transform away from the Mecanim version if you need a longer neck... but there's probably limitations
following more Art of Code tutorials, a rather fetching procedural star field :)
