Okay, so I only tracked down this Deadly Hands of Kung Fu stuff because of this editorial note in the most recent Daughters of the Dragon series...
(which is why editorial notes are a GREAT IDEA in an era of fast digital back issue access ffs)
Great cover to end the series with.
This reminds me that Marvel once announced a series about Blade's teenage daughter.
There really should be a teen-girl protege team at this point. Pei and Kate Bishop and Nadia Van Dyne and Laura Kinney and so many other greats.
I'm pretty sure Danny can swim, but this is still so fun that I don't care.
There's a short Kitty Pryde story in one of the Axis tie-ins and it's terrific. It feels a lot like a pre-cursor to her character in Marauders.
This Renaud cover is my fave from Uncanny Avengers vol 1, but it has 3 of my fave characters on it and they all look great, so that shouldn't be a surprise.
In the backmatter, Andrews says he had the ending planned from the beginning, but by the time he got there he didn't like it anymore.
I can only assume the resurrection of Shou-Lao and happier ending tacked on after Danny's fight-to-near-death with his girlfriend is the revision.
Sparrow becomes new Yu-Ti = good
Randall Gate destroyed = bad
part of the problem with half the Iron Fist stories is the writer wants to use K'Un-Lun but needs to come up with a cheat to get around the "every 10 years" rule. The Randall Gate was the perfect perma-cheat.
I have mixed feelings about the Bruce Lee jumpsuit redesign, but I like the black and yellow coloring way more than the white suit of the Bendis years.
And I like Sparrow's design a lot. They could kill Danny off and just give me a Ladies of Kung-Fu series and I'd be happy.
Danny, I disagree with you about your costume being better, but I'll take one of those Lamborghinis if you're just giving them out.
Kind of the point of the entire series right here, but a pretty good point.
