Kids got me up super damn early, so let's do a thread on the last volume of Iron Fist proper - the 2017-2018 series by Ed Brisson, Mike Perkins, and Andy Troy (with others).
To start, Jeff Dekal did some amazing covers for this run.
All the best ladies.
I don't think Titania would be too scared of a sword though. Like, she could break that in half, right?
The best thing to come from this series is that it's the end the terribly conceived story of Black Cat trying to be a full-on Kingpin crimelord and she got to go back to being a thief of questionable morals instead.
All the best ladies (and Deadpool, ugh).
If I was buying a commission I could just send the artist this cover and say "draw one of these characters" and be happy no matter who they chose.
Defenders!
But not really, because I think of the Defenders as Dr. Strange and Silver Surfer and Namor and Hulk and Valkyrie and others.
But this was called Defenders to tie in to that Netflix show and because Heroes for Hire isn't a great name.
Hard to think of a better name tbh
Ooh and I forgot there was a Christmas special too. It's freakin wild.
this is an awkward joke and I'm not sure they understand how Songbird's powers work, but whatever Songbird's in a comic i like it
I really like that they took the time to show how finding out their fellow superheroes are hurt or dead weighs on them emotionally in a very real way. It's not all declarations of vengeance.
"I fart mystical powers" is not a line that Danny would utter in any other comic but I lol'd
