Just skimming the main Avengers vs X-Men series for the Iron Fist stuff, most of which happened in the New Avengers tie-in issues.
Still weird how much Iron Fist mythology came into play in a story about the Avengers and X-Men fighting over the Phoenix.
In this case, Iron Fist's story absolutely does not continue. I feel like Spencer had a pitch in that didn't get picked up or got cancelled or something, because this never comes up again.
Then they pop up in the Fear Itself tie-in issues of Iron Man 2.0.
Joy Meachum looking fine.
A core aspect of the plot was that there were cursed Commedia Dell'Arte masks which would possess their wearer. This was one. Pagliacci another. It's actually a neat idea that could be fun in another story.
Love the retro logo choices of this series. That "The All-New, All-Different Power Man and Iron Fist" logo looks timeless.
And here it is - the reason I'm frequently tempted to re-read this series - Pokerface. The man with a poker through his face, who also runs a casino, because now the name has 2 meanings.
Every time Lady Gaga comes on the radio, I think of this.
Although Tiowa Bryant was a red herring, Noir was a neat character introduced in this series, and like so many others I've encountered in this Iron Fist binge, she never appeared again.
Van Lente showing a lot of respect for the Power Man/Iron Fist classics here - Thunderbolt and Professor Gamble and Iron Fist and El Aguila.
So if you skipped Misty's stuff in Heroes for Hire, you'd have no point of reference for how Danny went from proposing to a pregnant Misty to hooking up with Joy Meachum and that's weird.
Still, given their history, Danny and Joy is an interesting relationship to explore.
"This parade route is under our protection" is perhaps not the tough line Danny thinks it is.
