Picked up Ducks: Two Years in the Oil Sands, the new Kate Beaton book. It's pretty good and I'd recommend it, despite it being one of the bleakest and most depressing comic books I've ever read.

I have to admit I *hate* the lettering (it's hard to read!) but otherwise this is a fantastic short webcomic, and a very very heavy one.

Camp Weedonwantcha, a webcomic about a summer camp where parents abandon their children, really feels like a 90s Nicktoon in the best way, and almost got picked up by Nickelodeon, who sadly didn't bite. An under-rated comic not enough people know about

Octopus Pie's ending comes pretty close, though, and it has some absolutely phenomenal art, especially in the back third.

Speaking of problematic faves, the problematiciest fave of them all. I actually made a tumblr account just to aggregate @homestuck fanart and now I write comics myself. Funny how that works.

I even actually sort of kind of liked Homestuck 2 a little sometimes maybe.

@PrequelComic has some valid criticisms, but when it works it *works*. Parts of it are just that it was being uplifting at a time when I really needed it, and I maintain that it has the best magic system in all of fantasy.

I just wish it updated more than once a year :(

@junkworx This one maybe doesn't count because nepotism, but it's still really nice and one of my favorite images of the character
