Hospitaller knights defend the Hungarian city of Székesfehérvár from the Mongols!

In 1242 they successfully repelled a Mongol attack after fierce fighting.

Székesfehérvár was surrounded by marshes which greatly aided in its defense.

The Yellow Regiment was an elite unit in the Swedish army of Gustavus Adolphus made up of mostly German mercenaries.

They distinguished themselves at the battle of Lützen in 1632 fighting the Imperial army where it's estimated that they suffered up to 75% casualties!

Chronicles report how the Florentine Guelphs carried the martinella to the battle of Montaperti in 1260!
