Today I feel quite opulent and so have chosen this white muslin late 1830s gown @AugustaAuction. It has those typical 1830s mutton chop, which I find both amusing and charming. The dress is not in great condition, however, and needs a conservator's touch #FashionHistory

Today's lovely outfit from another American designer, Mrs. Dunstan. This 1909-11 dress also has a neutral color contrasted by a sprinkle of color. The elaborate beige lace fades into the background by the lightest touches of a deep emerald. Love it! @metmuseum #FashionHistory
