#Liverpool OTD - 1933: The Royal Court Theatre is devastated by fire.
Rebuilt, and re-opened in 1938
The foundation stone of St Cyprian's Church, Edge Lane/Durning Rd., was laid on 3rd September 1879 by Mr. Charles Groves.
Now student halls
Jesse Hartley, 'a colossus in the history of the Port of Liverpool' passed away on 24th August 1860. During his 36 years as Liverpool dock engineer, Hartley added 140 acres of wet docks and 10 miles of quay space, including the Royal Albert Dock.

#Liverpool OTD - 1816: The Fort Barracks, Bath Street, are closed and delivered over to the Ordnance Board. The site later became part of Princes Dock.

The William Brown Free Public Library and Museum opened in 1860. The 39 steps we see today were added in 1902-03 when the road levels were altered etc.
