@FolklessMetal I know what would be your no. 1 😉 Besides that I can imagine some of what you’d pick but not sure in what order
A new series, Ghostbuster Osamu, has started on Manga Plus! A funny exorcism manga about an otaku exorcist purifying geeky ghosts! 👻 - https://t.co/lFoUXBlB9a
2010: Princess Jellyfish
Ignited my love for Higashimura’s work, thoughtful story about self-expression, embracing your inner otaku, social outcasts finding a shared outlet for their interests through fashion and realizing anyone can be a Princess. All the music slapped too.
2012: JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure
Another tough year, but JoJo’s anime got me into the franchise which has now been an obsession of mine for a decade, so it’s gotta be it. Even if subsequent parts are even better, the first season has some of the most iconic moments anime-wise.
2014: Space Dandy
A great showcase of talented animators telling eclectic stories parodying tropes, exploring sci-fi concepts, experimenting with animation, playing loose with concept and format. Unabashedly indulgent in what the creators liked and were given free reign to do.
2019: Promare
The experience of watching the US premiere at AX is another one I’ll never forget. I’ve seen the movie many times, love the style, characters, heart, action, absurdity. Just everything Trigger excels at concentrated into a 2 hour thrill ride that never burns out.
No slide, but Denpa has licensed Tawawa on Monday for release in late 2023.
