25: Baby’s Arrival
This was a blast! Dorky dad Vegeta acting proud of his shave, himbo Goten dating his bimbo gf while fighting baddies, Satan trying to fight a Baby, all so fun! My only gripe is that we don’t have more Looney Tunes-y escapades with the gang and the Tiger alien!
24: Discovering the Truth
Baby might just be Cell 2.0, but he’s a creepy and interesting adversary and this episode does a good job establishing his powers and motivation. There’s genuine suspense in Baby’s body switching scheme and the way he assimilates people is skin-crawling
EP. 23: Hidden Danger
The fight with Rildo in the first half is baffling. We spent THREE episodes fighting him but he’s killed off with an avoidable kamehameha? Isn’t his body all the metal on M2, shouldn’t he able to regenerate? Why was Baby inside him? WHAT. WAS. THE. POINT?
22: The Baby Secret
The heroes act frustratingly stupid in this episode by... not acting. They just stand around pontificating and watching while Baby revives and Myuu escapes without trying to stop them. Why didn’t they just blow them up? At least Myuu’s death is amusingly dark
That's all I'll share for now, but there's definitely more Pokemon gushing in my future! This franchise means a lot to me and I wouldn't be who I am if I never became a fan of it. I treasure my memories of the series and am looking forward to forming more in the years ahead! 💖⚡️
EP. 19: A General Uprising
Rildo’s stronger than Buu? Fuck off. I don’t care about power scaling, but when you establish a threat you should follow through. Instead, just like last time, Goku clowns the guy until he transforms and they start fighting “for real.” Waste of time.
EP. 18: Unexpected Power
Contrary to the title, this fight was tediously predictable. I think my reactions to it were perfectly reflected in Rildo’s growing frustration. It’s Goku clowning the Sigma Force for 20 minutes, but it’s not funny. Goku’s just wasting his and our time.
EP. 9: Lord Luud
The whole giant space worm idea is clearly ripped from Star Wars, and will not be the first or last “homage” GT will make to it. Even so, I really like the spaceship chases in this ep and the Lord Luud Cult stuff strikes a good balance between goofy and creepy.
Ep. 8: Whisker Power
Trunks’s bad femme voice and acting single handed salvages this derivative premise into being entertaining. But the resolution bugs me; the village shouldn’t have forgiven Zoonama - he’s a scummy jerk and didn’t help solve the quake/eruption problem at all!
