ARABIAN NIGHTS, released Dec 1993, is unique among #mtg US expansions-

It's the only one set in a true-world location (Middle East) & based on a work of literature specifically (1001 Nights)

Richard Garfield was inspired to do this by @neilhimself's comic Sandman #50 (Jun 1993)

The WHITE MANA symbol is the only one of the basic mana symbols to have changed since the release of #mtg

The original white mana symbol was used from Alpha (Aug 1993) until Fallen Empires (Nov 1994). Beginning with Fourth Edition, it was changed the more distinct current symbol

In the Shards of Alara set (Oct 2008) #WotC revamped #mtg booster pack contents:

•A land would be included with EVERY booster (not just in core boosters) introducing a LAND tier of rarity

•MYTHIC rarity was introduced, powerful cards that only appear approx. every 8 boosters
