I find it easier making all the masked layers for all the parts of the artwork than it is just painting the damn thing. What is wrong with me?

I'm still figuring out my own painting process. So far, I mask the area I want to focus on (her green cape atm). Then I use a big brush to define the general areas of light and shadow. After that, I just keep working on it while reducing the size of the brush.

I'm really enjoying this coloring technique. My biggest worry is whether it'll look good. Fingers crossed. 🤞
