Dark Tide ('12)
⭐⭐
After losing a colleague in an attack, a #shark expert, forced by money issues, returns to the water for a shark dive.
I didn't really consider this a #horror, but most movie sites do, so who am I to argue?
#HalleBerry deserves better.

Torso ('72) [Italy]
⭐⭐⭐½
My 2nd #SergioMartin #horror film of #Gianuary and its another gore-strewn firecracker full of carnage. But the real surprise was how taut and chilling the final act is. Twisted, nail-biting stuff.

Slumber Party Massacre ('21)
⭐⭐½
I saw raves for this, & while I appreciate the tone they were going for, it just wasn't for me. Very much a low-budget SyFy channel #horror movie w/ some brutal kills & great practical effects.

Cursed Films ('20)
⭐⭐⭐
Five episodes, each one focusing on a different film and the tragedies that befell production that have now become legend. Nothing new here & it annoyingly flips to things that have nothing to do w/ the film they're talking about.

Great White ('21)
⭐⭐½
Follows 5 people adrift on a raft, terrorised by a patient and bloodthirsty great white. Better than I expected, and in parts quite an effective little #horror, just let down by a weak script & budget restraints. To rent on #Prime.

Freejack ('92)
⭐⭐½
Only here for the Goddess that is #ReneRusso but stayed for the cheap #SciiFi aesthetics, the cornucopia of familiar #90s faces, & #MickJagger's fabulous overacting. Deserving of its cult status & impossible not to have fun with.

Children of the Corn: Genesis ('11)
⭐½
The penultimate CotC movie (not incl the '20 reboot) and this time, the little bastards from the depths of the shrubbery, come forth to wreak ruination upon a young, stranded couple.
May God have mercy.

Starman ('84)
⭐⭐⭐⭐
I wish I could watch every #JohnCarpenter film again for the first time. #JeffBridges & #KarenAllen provide the biggest heart I've seen in Carpenter's work, but its missing The Master's synth work which would've been perfect.

The Do-Over ('16)
⭐⭐½
Believe it or not, this was only my 2nd #AdamSandler film since 2011. I completely gave up after Jack and Jill. Thankfully this wasn't as bad, & as much as the toilet & dick humour gets on my nerves, I forgot that generally his movies are pretty feel good.

The Lodge ('19)
⭐⭐⭐
A promising start, slow and atmospheric, simplistic and well shot; but it never really moves out of first gear. By the time the middle leads to the finale, all the good will it built setting up the story, falls a bit flat.
