Appreciation post about Ariel in Volume 7 Cover, who has both her arms and legs crossed and looks BEAUTIFUL
Not that I ignore her physical strength obv. She's amazing, and I think that that strength means a lot and represents the insane ammount of effort and things she's gone through. It's the physical proof of her strength of will and determination. And she's so cool what can I say.
When I talk about her strength, I usually mean her mental one btw. I find her so admirable and powerful in that way, and I respect and admire her so much. She shines so brightly to my eyes. I was so pleasantly surprised when I saw Shiro talking about how much she shines in the LN
Her boots are not as high as in the novels and aren't red on the inside, so they got quite the downgrade. I love them in the LN style, but it's ok. They definitely look good enough, I shall approve them.
About her legs, they indeed kept the difference between the length of her leggins (or whatever those are), so I'm really happy! They also have different colors in the novel but have been simplified here. I like them a lot though, they are basically the same. Feels amazing.
She doesn't have the two black strips below her top which cross and get to her back either, but it's fine.
About her gloves, they have the right height and cover her elbows, but in the anime she doesn't have the bracelets covering her arms that come after them.
Her top is also well done. They kept the green line which is great, and her cape joins with it where it's supposed to. The only difference is that the strips that connect it to her necklace are just black without the green lines on the sides, but that's just a minor detail.
Her accessories around her neck are well done. All of the pieces that form her pendant are there and I'm sooo happy about it. The manga changed it and didn't even keep the lime green strip it has at its end. I'm really glad they kept everything from it, it looks great.
The high-fur collar is very nice. Simplified as everything else, yes, but they did it exactly how it is in the LN, with the same height up and down and basically everything on point. It's how they had to do it, but I'm still thankful for it as for everything else.
Their back is black in the anime when both sides are the same colour in the LN though. Then they turn yellow and make a braid, which's been simplified here so that they are just divided in 5 segments. The spikes are there and it looks great even if it's simplified, so I'm happy
