I painted this as the tide was coming in just at the waters' edge. I had to move back from the incoming tide at least five times. I just love that.

Horray, just shortlisted for the John Hurt Art Prize, Holt Festival. It's an incredible field of artists this year, very high calibre and such a variety. I'm honoured to be a part, especially this year when we all need to be lifted up.

Beyond grateful to have been given access to a walled garden to paint for a few days capturing irises. I'm off to paint and catch the hedgerow... it's all so beautiful and fleeting. The unstoppable Persephone. Love beyond measure.
