The brief sketch allows me to sneak back into elasmobranchs as they weren’t one of the restricted freshwater families.
So I’ve gone with a Whiptail stingray.

is doing the rounds again. Looking at the art being shared is making me feel wholey inadequate, but I'll join in nonetheless.

Totally out of my comfort zone here but I’ve gone for the Anchor Tuskfish as my motivational as it’s possibly the first tool using fish discovered. It tenaciously uses rocks to break open mollusc shells.

has scrambled my brain this week. The brief is to make a fish from an inanimate object. I’ve made the short leap from a box fish to a cardboard box fish. It turns out that cardboard is tricky to draw.

The brief this week was for a fish that you hadn’t heard of before.
In my reading up of Chondrichthyes I discovered Cladoselache fyleri who was a pre-Elasmobranch shark from the Devonian period.

Really challenging this week, making a picture that fits within a random shape.
I went for something inspired by my own tank, a zebra danio swimming amongst rock and shell.

I see is doing the rounds. I'm still finding my way and style but it gives me immense joy.

I was so gutted when I realised that I had missed a shark themed last week; I’m now thrilled that I have another chance this week.
I didn’t want to give you anything too obvious so here’s the mysterious Caribbean Roughshark.

Fish names with a story for this week. I’ve gone for the John Dory. No one knows why it’s called that for sure but it’s also called Peter’s fish as it’s fabled to bear the thumbprint of St. Peter on its side.

There’s a local theme to the this week. So my contribution from the UK is the Lesser Spotted Dogfish. I had lots of fun with these guys when I used to work in an aquarium.
