Episode 39 of #GundamWing treats viewers to some excellent frames of animation in some totally unique settings. Compliments go to Shinichi Sakuma and Hitoshi Waraya, two veteran #Gundam animators who co-directed several episodes of Wing (including the finale).
The 5 love languages:
- Decking a group of EMTs in front of your significant other
- Announcing you’ll kill them
- Dueling a rival who might vie for their attention
- Never deferring to their judgement
- Planning their execution and then carrying it out
Anyway, back to #GundamWing. Nobuyoshi Nishimura has a storied career in the Japanese animation and video game industry. Of course, he was an animation director on Wing. But he also did the character designs for #Gundam X.
This technique is called “postcard memory” and dates to Osamu Dezaki and the early years of the Japanese animation industry. But it persists to this day. Featured below: #RoseofVersailles (1979), #SpaceAdventureCobra (1982), #Berserk (1997), and #HajimenoIppo (2000-2002).
