FT’s plot is complex, to say the least, characterized by the same dramatic turnabouts that made #GundamWing so appealing (or confusing, take your pick). Ostensibly, it deals with “Operation Mythos,” a plan to put an end to the growing political tensions between Mars and UESA.
We would be remiss if we didn’t mention that Katoki did the designs for the second and third #Patlabor films, Sega’s Virtua On series, and the mechs featured in @HIDEO_KOJIMA_EN's Policenauts.
Gundam Sentinel was a cult hit; it really struck a chord with the hardcore crowd. And Katoki’s star was ascendant after that. He did the mecha designs for #Gundam 0083, 08th MS Team, Victory Gundam, Crossbone, Gundam Wing, the list goes on…
Katoki's designs are incredibly distinct. #Gundam Sentinel, even three decades after its original publication, holds a vaunted position in the fandom, and that’s primarily due to his super clean yet super intricate designs. There’s a physically to his mechs that’s unmatched.
Aoki worked with Sumisawa on #Inyuyasha, so they had a good working relationship. He was not an unproven talent. He had storyboarded a few episodes of the #Patlabor TV show. He was also Assistant Animation Director on Beautiful Dreamer, the second #UruseiYatsura film.
Check out these good mechs (the Leo-S, the Leo-N, the D-Unit, and Geminass, respectively) designed by Koichi Tokita for the #GundamWing side story G-Unit.
First up, we have the Virgo III (designed by Koichi Tokita) and the Scorpio (designed by Junya Ishigaki), both of which debuted Battlefield of Pacifists, the one-off manga that takes place between #GundamWing and Endless Waltz.
The inclusion of Bunt is maybe just as wild as the victims of political assassination. He was the local warlord who betrayed his own troops to OZ and then was destroyed by Wufei.
