It's absolutely heartbreaking hearing from survivors of the shooting about what happened. It's hard to watch and I got emotional a few times because it's just so much to take in.

Which also makes the stories of those who saved other people that much more beautiful.

As the film suggests, it's about a cat in Paris, and he's an incredibly good cat. I need a cat like this, honestly. He's a good boy.

Masque of the Red Death is a bizarre little animated film with so much to unpack in it that I don't have the energy to do that right now. But it also looks incredible because of how it's a series of animated paintings that lead into each other.

I love all of this, honestly.

I have far too many screencaps of it, but when a film looks this good what's considered too many screencaps?

Honestly, though, I don't even really need to say anything about the film, the way it looks speaks for it.

I was sold on the film before seeing it simply through a comparison to Takahata's version of The Tale of Princess Kaguya and that's incredibly apt. It's an incredibly similar film in a lot of respects.

Also, the use of water colours is astounding.

It is absolutely incredible to look and it's amazing to think that the director did all of this himself.
