One benefit of coloring in word balloons is you can save the color white for deliberate effect rather than having white just be sort of a default non-color. Same thing with the color of the panel gutters & page. I use grays this way in my black & white webcomic Flesh Machine. https://t.co/pHuT89HVCq

@BrndnStrssng I remember Matt Fraction learning that the pathetic villain Stilt-Man had fans when they got angry because Fraction wrote a comic where The Punisher killed Stilt-Man by shooting him in the taint with a rocket launcher. "Every character is someone's favorite," haha.
