If you draw, then this is a great time to be an art book collector. So many legendary animators, game devs, and mangaka are finally sharing their techniques & breaking down their design process in these books. I think it could benefit us all to try and learn from them ✍️

Yasuomi Umetsu has a mini art book coming out soon, I'll see if I can get a copy. I missed out on his last book and that was upsetting, because I have a tremendous amount of respect for his work😢

I purchased "Step by Bloody Step" by Matias Bergara. A short story about a girl traveling the wasteland, and her bodyguard is a giant suit of armor. There's no dialogue, but I loved it. It's cute, tragic, and feels like a mix of Genndy Tartakovsky's Primal with The Iron Giant 🔖

Brett Parson - Comic illustrator, cartoonist, and a capable draftsman. Brett is best known for his exaggerated style, which consists of using thick/rigid lines, dark humor, and crowding panels with smoke, novelty items and pop culture references. He's currently drawing Tank Girl.

This is just about the prettiest thing you'll see in a modern cartoon. Out of everything that Steven Universe is known for, backgrounds are the one that I think everybody respects.
