This creature may be a version of the "Balaur" from Romanian folklore. A many-headed dragon sometimes equipped with wings & between 3 - 12 heads.

A pity that the painter of this German 18th century Eleven Headed Monster is....unknown.

Could it even be a family portrait?

Ressendi was A classically trained Spanish painter inspired by Goya. His art was often seen as 'scandalous' for its expressionism and depiction of dark subject matter.

While making the record cover for Dio's classic Holy Diver (1983), the original artist, Gene Hunter, decided he needed some source material so he dressed up as a priest covered in real chains, got into the sea and had a photographer take pictures.

Amazing - who knew that Debbie Harry of Blondie did a pop video & album concept art with H.R Giger!

The entirely ALIEN looking pop video was for the single "Now I know you know" (1981), released 2 years after Alien the movie.
