"The Wheel of Fortune" by Edward Burne-Jones, was painted from 1875-83. It's an allegory with individual lives elevated or cast down as the wheel of fortune turns. A painfully slow painter Burne-Jones was himself deeply concerned about 'running out of time'.
@UndineSpragg he did fuss over his finished paintings and left many unfinished, I feel the same way about his unfinished pieces, they are beautiful in a whole different way
