In 2017 the museum hosted 'Creative Wiltshire' an exhibition celebrating Modern Art and Design by artists linked to Swindon and Wiltshire, and included paintings, drawings, sculpture and ceramics.

Eileen Cooper OBE RA (b.1953) British figurative painter, known for allegorical depictions of life & womanhood. ‘Play Dead II’, 1995-97 was acquired for the collection with support of the & the V&A Purchase Fund.
