Not What I Was - Page 160

I tried to get across in the last panel that the guard's shaking his head no.

Not sure this motion came across, so if anyone has any suggestions for the future, let me know!

No, Doc, that's not how you use a--you know what? Fine. At least you didn't throw it.

Also, if you're going to try to surrender or something, the time is _before_ you shoot someone twice

I'm sure that'll buff right out...

Okay, Doc, you have a weapon now that won't set everything on fire. Do NOT throw it at someone.

Looks like Doc's got a new shield...

...no, wait, he's just throwing it again.

Okay, this guy's showing some promising initiative!

Lately I've been incorporating into the image somewhere.

...flames, shipping labels, bottle labels...

Key is just to make it visible enough the reader doesn't have to search for it.

I like to do cover art for each chapter of the story. I've already got the chapter written - at least in first draft - so usually I'm trying to include some of the contents in the cover image as a sort of preview or reference to the contents.

Some examples:

Hey there,

"Not What I Was" is a cyberpunk-ish dystopian setting in which generations of nano/biotech have resulted in a world split by species as much as anything else.

You can be pretty much whatever you want -- if you can pay for it, of course.
