Looot on my mind, but at least I get to write about her a bunch this week.
35. JASON VS. LEATHERFACE. Imagine taking a fun gimmick idea and turning it into a story about bonding over respective trauma, so that the fight is actually something you don't want to happen, because it destroys the only thing close to friendship either of these guys ever had.
34. NEXT TESTAMENT. What if God were a horny living rainbow? Cool, right. What if God came back to Earth? Sounds like a party. OK, but, what if He absolutely hated us?
31. THE DARK PHOENIX SAGA. A true comic book epic. Kitty, Emma & Dazzler get introduced, it's got one of (if not THE) most iconic Wolverine moments ever, never loses sight of the romance at its core, and it culminates in a full-blown space opera.
29. ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN ANNUAL 1. I know I already said the whole series, but I can't help it. The issue where Peter and Kitty get together is so adorable and I read it whenever I need a pick-me-up. It's one of my favorite rom-coms of the '00s.
28. ALIENS: STALKER. You want proof ALIEN stories on Earth can work? Take this absolutely rad as hell one-shot about Vikings coming into contact with a Xenomorph, which they naturally believe to be a demon in need of slaying. Maybe my favorite ALIENS comic.
25. BATMAN: HUSH. One of my all time favorite Batman stories. Hush is a great villain, I love the spotlight this puts on the Bruce/Selina relationship, plus Ivy turns Superman into her damn puppet.
23. SPIDER-WOMAN. Old issues of Spider-Woman's first series were some of the first comics I ever remember reading and I instantly fell in love. Superheroics that always carried a healthy dose of horror and general weirdness. Inject it right into my veins.
21. WITCHBLADE. I know it was super cakey and marketed to horny adolescent boys, and the copaganda doesn't hold up, but I still love the character and the mythology so much.
