I am right in the middle of finishing up this very important work and can't even really start until this project is over, but I am VERY excited to get cracking on the JULIE comic once this is done.
Announcement inspired largely by how well SLICES OF JULIE has been selling: Hoping to have a second story collection, JULIE BY THE FIRE, in Kindle & print by the end of the year, PLUS a comic book one-shot!
Today on "I'm a melting pot of BUFFY opinions," I'm thinking of writing something on how "Conversations With Dead People" is the 1st ep that leans into showcasing Dawn's raw inner strength and what a badass she can be. (AND how it might also prove she's still The Key...)
As a fan, I think it is endlessly cool that PUPPET MASTER has spawned nearly 40 comic book issues of prequels, spinoffs, continuations, crossovers, side-stories and even Halloween specials, expanding on the established lore while filling in gaps in new and creative ways.
Not for nothing, but this was ripe for a DTV sequel a la DARKMAN II with, let's say, Tony Twist and Overtkill.
That DC tweet got me thinking of some more of the first comics I can ever remember owning. Here are a few that immediately stick out. These covers are seared into my brain.
