The new "Alternate" Nier that just dropped in NieR Reincarnation seems to have some really on the nose imagery.

A "lone wolf" from a branch of events where he's all alone and doesn't even remember the significance of the Lunar Tear (Yonah, Kaine).

Collecting these guys like they're the chaos emeralds.

@zorb11s Real quick, tis speculation based on:
-Overseers heavily allude to One, replicate via ribs, similar "hair bands", twins
-Appearance data seems to be shared to a degree with Machines/YoRHa
-Adam and 2P also replicate via their ribs, like One
-N2 and 2P turn into False Idol

I had a vision

Beginning to really dawn on me that we fought a literal, boss-fight, personification of the Cult of the Watchers symbol.

Like, obviously The False Idol is very on the nose, literally The Forged God. "Possessed by Disease" plays. But also 2nd phase is two One look-a-likes fused.

The forgotten Kimihiko Fujisaka designed, protagonist. It's too bad her game didn't get a proper finish, i liked her in the FFXV crossover.
