Steps 1 and 2: sketch and block-in. I am a very, very messy sketcher, and my typical sketches for clients takes 2 passes to preserve their sanity. Here's my messy early steps in full glory. I wanted the painting to be dark, thus started value block-in from a dark grey.

15 years ago on this day, shortly after splurging on an intro-level Wacom tablet, I made one of my first handful of digital paintings. I remember wanting to draw something creepy and weird, like from a light nightmare. Sketched a new version of that tonight for fun.

Clearing out archives, don't think I posted this one done for #hearthstone's United in Stormwind expansion, Clumsy Courier. Fun one and reminded me of the many clumsy disasters I caused as a kid.
