This is 'The Life Room (Norwich Art School)' by John Wonnacott. He taught at the Art School 1978-86 and with fellow artist John Lessore established the Life Room in the St Georges Building, now , to promote drawing from life in the teaching of art.

We hope you're all surviving - it's looking a little damp out there again this afternoon! Stormy seas have provided inspiration for a number of artists in our collection. Here are some of our favourites (including one after the storm which is a bit more reassuring.)

Plesiosaurs were long-necked marine reptiles that disappeared alongside the dinosaurs at the end of the Cretaceous period. This Jurassic Plesiosaur flipper is 150-155 million years old! The flipper would have helped our creature to practically 'fly' through the water.

We love dinosaurs, but not as much as Alice Bolingbroke Woodward who painted this charming watercolour. We think she would definitely have enjoyed – and would have been first in the queue to see when he arrives l this summer!
