I've been working on some of my NPCs for chapter 1. It's interesting working on characters that deviate a bit from standard human anatomy. Still plenty more to make!

Continued working on Margarette and got her front walk animation put together. It's interesting creating a completely different walk cycle. I wouldn't say I'm proficient in this sort of thing yet, but I'm getting better.

The game I'm making is a top down RPG (name still tbd). You deal with souls that could/would not pass on while searching for your missing friend. The game will be light hearted with a plethora of quirky characters to meet along the way.

I finished my exterior tileset and replaced the temp assets I used, Minus NPCs. Seeing my progress from the last year, it's cool to see the massive shift.
1. Initial Creation and scale
2. City Overhaul and rescale
3. My Environment Assets

@hedgewizardgame I have some forests the player will go through in my game too. To avoid frequent repetition of the trees locked to a grid, I created a handful of tree clusters I can slap together wherever I need them.
Even just using 2 clusters, it looks a little more organic
Much like my abilities as a pixel artist, this tree is still young and growing. But it's still progress.

Sometimes I'm proud of my progress. Other times I feel like it's all trash. Whelp, now I've got a place to toss my trash as I keep working on my game!

Finally bit the bullet and tried doing the dreaded #pixelart tree. It's not the greatest, and I'll need to simplify it further to make it match my other game assets, but for a first go, I think I did okay.

Whelp, my #Artsummary2021 consists of... December. But I've gone from "never done #pixelart" to making a character, animating her walk/run cycle (also a first), and starting to making a tileset for my game. I've learned a lot thus far, but I've still got a long way to go
